My Experience: Bakdes

Bakti Desa

On January 2019, my school, National Senior High School 3 Bandung, held an event called Bakdes. Bakdes or Bakti Desa is an event when us, the 2nd year students, go to village to see and live like villagers. This year, we go to Kertasari Village, Cibeureum sub-district, Bandung Regency.

On January 3rd, we gathered in school yard and went to the village using public transportation. After two hours, we arrived at Cibeureum Village Hall. We got a briefing from our teachers and village chief. After that, we had lunch and go to our foster family house. We got acquainted with our foster family. After that, we took a stroll to the nearest vegetable plantation. After tired, we got back home for took a shower, pray, and had dinner. After that, we chatted with our foster family and then went to sleep.

Next day, we woke up early in the morning, took a shower, and had breakfast. After that, we went to Cisanti Lake. The view is so magnificent. We had lunch, took some photos, and walked surrounding the lake. After that, we went back home and prayed. After that, we gathered in the nearest mosque to did charity event. We shared a lot of clothes and food to the village. After that, we prayed in the mosque. Thereafter, we had dinner at home and get to sleep.

On the last day, we went to the Kertasarie Tea Plantation by motocycle. We enyoyed the scenery and took some photos. Thereafter, we went back home and say last goodbye to our foster family. We can’t held our tears. As a sign of thanks, we gave some gifts for our foster family. Surprisingly, our foster family gave us gift too. Each of us got a bag full of potatoes! Then, we walked to Cibeureum Village Hall and went back to our school.

This is one of the most emotional events that I will never forget. I learn so many things there. The most important lesson I got there was always grateful and appreciate others.
